What is Stewardship?

"Honour the Lord by giving Him the first part of all your income, and He will fill your barns with wheat and barley and overflow your wine vats with the finest of wines." - Proverbs 3:9

The goal of the Stewardship committee is to raise 100% of operational expenses through the generous pledges of Stewards like you.  Your pledge is the financial lifeline that provides a tangible confirmation of your commitment to help in the advancement of our Church Ministries and our Orthodox Christian Faith.

Stewardship is about sharing with God some of the gifts which He has given us:  Our Time, Talents, and Treasures.  This affirms the declaration of faith from the Liturgy when the priest proclaims "From your own gifts we offer these to You, O God, in all, and for all."

Stewardship begins not with society's values, but with Jesus Christ.  Out of that relationship with Jesus Christ is how one lives and acts toward God, self, and others.  A total Steward acknowledges his/her accountability to God.  In Psalm 8, and in other places, we are told that God gives us dominion over the earth.  However, we are the managers, not the owners.  A steward is entrusted to manage what belongs to the owner who is God, and our Church.  With that trust comes accountability.  It is what a person does after saying "I believe...." and acts on those beliefs.

Our bond with the Lord our God begins with faith, is maintained by the Holy Spirit, and is continually revewed in our actions, such as good deeds, and generosity.
