Saint
Athanasius Stewardship Program
Time, Talents &
Treasures
As our title indicates, our Stewardship theme is
Time, Talents and Treasures.
We all contribute to our church in different ways.
We usually have one or two of these attributes. But
rarely do we have all three! Ex. A parishioner may
have free time to volunteer, but limited funds to
contribute. Vice versa when a parishioner is not
able to help out during the festival, but will make
a donation for the effort. And the most
underappreciated is probably the Talent. Last
November, we saw a extraordinary effort from various
parishioners who made our new church beautiful.
We wanted to take a moment to thank our parishioners
who went above and beyond the call of duty to
volunteer their services and talents. Since we
cannot name everyone who helped during the move, we
will acknowledge the act instead. You all know who
you are and we are grateful for your help and
generosity.
Here’s a list of just some of the projects that have
been donated:
-
The
Iconostasi project
-
The painting
of the Church and Community Center
-
Plumbing and
electrical services
-
Refrigerators
and various appliances
-
Use of large
trucks to help with move
-
Cleaning,
packing, moving all items from old to new St.
Athanasius campus
-
Legal and
real estate agent services (purchase of church)
-
Landscaping
services, snow removal, and building maintenance
-
The many
volunteers who help with all organizations,
committees, and church office
-
A parishioner
who offered free housing to a homeless
individual
-
Design and
printing of our full-color flyers, and the
design, upkeep and maintenance of our church
website
These are
some
examples of our parishioners using their Time,
Talents and Treasures toward the good of our
Church. We moved our entire church within 5 days
(last liturgy was on Sunday and we had our first
vespers on Saturday evening) for a total cost to the
church of $0 (zero). Now that is amazing!
Please step up and volunteer your
Time and/or your Talent. We need many services that
we are paying for. Please call to volunteer. |
