The Saint Athanasius the Great Preschool & PreKindergarten Program

"Little Halos"

Ages 3-5

Mission Statement and Philosophy

(A Three-Fold Program of the Greek Orthodox Faith, Hellenic Culture and Greek Language)

The St. Athanasius Program is committed to providing students with a quality education that emphasizes academic achievement as well as social, emotional, cultural and spiritual development. Our belief is that children are active learners, explorers, experimenters, and artists. In our child-centered classrooms, the children will have many opportunities to learn about our Greek heritage and Orthodox religion through play, which will provide the fundamental building blocks for academic learning. These building blocks will instill the values expressed by the Socratic mοdel of “know thyself” (“γνώθι σε εαυτόν”-“gnothi se afton”). This foundation will serve children in developing a strong identity, enabling them to become insightful and compassionate members of society.
